Click on the images or links below to view and save the free patterns. Print the pattern templates on white cardstock or other sturdy paper if you would like to use them over and over. For a one time use, just print on regular paper. Cut out the pieces and use them as a pattern to trace the designs onto your favorite papers. Using cardstock will give your paper piecings added depth.
In the first project shown below, the same pattern was used to make both butterflies. The first photo shows the body of the butterfly cut from gold foil paper. Thin cloth cording was glued around the edges of the butterfly's wings. In both photos, 3 different papers were use, one for the bodice and 2 coordinating papers for the wings.
